Soft Story retrofits have become mandatory in many parts of the Bay Area. The work we do consists of a number of components including pre-construction bracing, such as moment frames or shear walls, and new concrete footings. Bracings are added on the first floor to protect occupants. Footings serve to hold down the building during an earthquake. Together, these various components compliment each other to provide comprehensive earthquake resilience.
Are you purchasing a new home and need structural evaluation? Smith Engineering can provide a preliminary structural evaluation of the property.
